Tatiana Matta is running for congress in the 23rd Congressional District which is currently represented by Kevin McCarthy. She has been endorsed by the California Democratic Party and spoke at the May meeting of Tehachapi Democratic Club.

Matta lives in Rosamond, and her husband is a Biological Engineer with the Air Force. She says she will fight to diversify our local economy and create more living wage jobs. As a school board member with Muroc Joint Unified District, she has a special interest in education and wants increased federal funding for schools and safety of youth.

As mother of a 13-year-old son, Matta understands the needs of parents and children. She says she will fight for family leave for working parents and affordable childcare. Quality health care for families is high on her list of priorities.

Matta is highly qualified to serve in Congress. She has a BA degree in Criminal Justice and a Master's Degree in Public Relations from George Washington University. She has organized an advocacy group for military families that has become a national support group for them.

Matta summed up her philosophy saying, "I believe in solving problems for all Americans working across the aisle and using common sense practical solutions to move our country forward."

Tehachapi Mountain Democratic Club meets the first Thursday of each month at Big Papa's Steakhouse. Any registered Democrat is welcome to join the group. Call (661) 821-0538 for further information.
