At their April meeting, the Tehachapi SENIOR CENTER Board of Directors voted to support the proposed TVRPD bond measure to build a new community center in Tehachapi. Tehachapi Valley Recreation and Park District General Manager Michelle Vance outlined the project for the Board and asked for their input. Board President Lewis Brown said that the new center would replace the old existing facility on the corner of F and Hayes Streets.  Brown added that the group would need to remain autonomous.

The group had a few requests in the planning of the new facility. Their wish list included their own entrance and parking, card/game rooms, room for exercise classes and socializing. Vance told the group that all requests will be taken into consideration.
