Local BMX racer Alex Howard.
Local BMX racer Alex Howard recently moved up to the Expert Division of the 9-year-old age group. Winning his 12th race at Bakersfield Metro race track on March 2. Alex had been competing in the Intermediate Division which is where racers learn to use clip pedals and start to upgrade their bikes. Alex had competed at the Winter Nationals in Las Vegas in January and brought home first place trophies. Alex puts a lot of time in training, he does various strength workouts with his bike and hones his starts with his own starting gate.
