The Tehachapi Humane Society recently donated a cast iron bench to the Mojave Animal Shelter for their outside meet and greet area. The teakwood bench donated to the shelter in the 90s by THS members, Ridge and Thelma Friedel had deteriorated. THS also recently donated some dog toys and treats to the shelter. Their next donation to the shelter will be dog beds for small dogs and whatever the Mojave shelter employees think the cats need.

Tehachapi Humane Society still gives out spay/neuter vouchers, has a shot clinic with Dr. Billingsly once a month and two "Fix Your Pet" Clinics every month. THS also has a feral or stray cat Trap/Neuter and Return (TNR) program and they help some low income families with pet food. The Tehachapi Humane Society does not have enough volunteers to run a pet rescue at this time, but all of their other programs are still going strong! There are only a handful of people running the organization. If you would like to help by volunteering in some way, please let them know. You can help with fundraising by becoming a board member, foster home director, a foster home or however you think you can help. Please call (661) 823-0699 for any questions about their numerous programs or to volunteer.
