Wreaths Across America Celebrates in Tehachapi's East & West Cemeteries

2017 Winter Fun Guide

The Tehachapi Westside Cemetery, 920 Enterprise Way, and the Tehachapi Eastside Cemetery, 820 Burnett Road, are both official Wreaths Across America (WAA) locations and will host a wreath-laying ceremony for Wreaths Across America Day. More than 1,200 other locations across the country will participate in this event that began in 1992 at Arlington National Cemetery.

The event will be held Saturday,

Dec. 16, 2017, 10:30 a.m. beginning at the Westside Cemetery. Following a short program and the laying of wreaths on each veterans head stone, we will travel to the Eastside Cemetery to honor the veterans there. The theme for this year is: "I'm an American. Yes I am."

Donations are needed to cover the cost of wreaths for approximately 680 veterans buried at both cemeteries. With every 2 wreaths purchased at a cost of $15 per wreath, a third wreath is donated. Checks made payable to Wreaths Across America can be mailed to Tehachapi Public Cemetery, P.O. Box 248, Tehachapi, CA 93581 or dropped off at Wood Family Funeral Service, 321 F Street, or at Tehachapi Westside Cemetery, 920 Enterprise Way. You also may donate through WreathsAcrossAmerica.org using our group code CA0212. For additional information contact the WAA Event Committee at (661) 822-3842. Join with members of our community on Dec. 16, 10:30 a.m. to:

REMEMBER the fallen...

HONOR those who serve...

TEACH the value of freedom.
