Restrictions on Dumping

Be sure to have your Stallion Springs Resident Pass on your windshield and visible. Due to illegal dumping by residents and non-residents the trash transfer station will soon be fenced and access controlled. The facility will be manned and access to the transfer station limited to pass holders. The bins are for the disposal of regular household trash only. Large bulky items such as couches, tables, chairs, outdoor furniture, carpet, lawn mowers, etc., as well as electronic waste and construction waste, must be taken to the County Landfill or stored for disposal at the Community Cleanup Day held in the spring and fall each year.

Proposed transfer site hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., seven days a week and will be manned five days by the County and two days by a Stallion Springs employee. If you do not have a resident pass they are available to residents at the CSD office. There is no charge for the sticker.

OktoberFest

Get ready for OktoberFest, Oct. 14, at the Community Center from 12 to 6 p.m. Plan to arrive early and stay late. Beer, wine and sodas will be flowing generously and expect a line for bratwurst. Attendance is expected to be larger than last year's 3,500 people over the 6 hours. There are fun activities planned for kids on the playground. Inside the Community Center vendors will be busy selling their wares. SSCERT will assist with parking and other assignments from the SSPD.  CERT assignments and training for the event will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 11 at 6:30 p.m. in the Stallion Springs EOC, Sergeant Gary Crowell will be the Trainer. 

CERT is in need for more SSCERTs to assist with this deployment. If you are available, please respond.  Assignments will be made in shifts. Let us know what time works for you.

SDRMA recognizes Stallion Springs

The Special District Risk Management Authority has recognized the Stallion Springs CSD Management and Staff for their commitment to proactive risk management and loss prevention. In addition to this recognition for no paid claims during the 2016-2017 period the CSD earned credit points reducing their annual contribution amount.

Police report

In the month of August the Stallion Springs Police Department logged six arrests and issued 26 citations. There were 41 calls for service,45 reports, 12 want and warrant checks, 131 officer initiated investigations, and two medical assists.

The Community Service Unit conducted 38 vacation house checks and one infrastructure check.

Stallion Springs PAL Derby Downs Cart Race

Come out and join the Stallion Springs Police Activities League on Oct. 7, 2017 for some racing fun during the Derby Downs Cart Races.

Contact the CSD for registration information and more details. The entry fee is $15 per racer. T-shirts will be available for $20 on race day while supplies last.

The first race will start at 9 a.m., racers must arrive no later than 8 a.m.

Racers must be 5 years old or older.

Hot dogs, chips & sodas will be sold on race day.

Board of Directors

The Stallion Spring Board of Directors meet on the third Tuesday of every month. The next meeting will be on Tuesday, Oct. 17, at 6 p.m. at the CSD Board Room.
