Two ducks rescued from Cub Lake

September 2, 2017

Two beautiful domestic Pekin Ducks were abandoned at Cub Lake earlier this month. Your first thought might be what a beautiful duck home! Unfortunately, domesticated ducks cannot fly and have little ability to get away from predators. Also, domestic birds can carry diseases that the wild ducks may be vulnerable to, or vice-versa.

These birds were rescued by Pacific Waterfowl Rescue (PWR) staff and transported to the rescue in Tehachapi Valley for rehabilitation and hopefully re-homing. If you are interested in adopting a domestic duck or goose, volunteering at the rescue, or have a domestic duck or goose you can no longer take care of, contact PWR at contact@pacificwaterfowlrescue.org, phone/text (760) 914-2170, or visit http://www.facebook.com/pacificwaterfowlrescue. Donations are accepted at http://www.paypal.me/PWR. All donations go for feeding, housing and medical care of the birds.
