The Tehachapi Lions Club proudly presents their Inaugural Lions Bike Scramble on June 24 at 9 a.m. at Philip Marx Central Park in Tehachapi. This is a family fun event, much like a scavenger hunt only on bikes, that will help young riders with navigation skills and bicycle safety as they make their way to designated checkpoints around the City of Tehachapi.

Each participant will receive a bicycle safety demonstration from the California Highway Patrol of Mojave, a Scramble Map, checkpoint locations and a finisher's medallion. Every participant is also entered to win a $500 bike from Cycle and Go donated by the Tehachapi GranFondo. The Scramble consists of three groups: "The Pride" is the family group and will have 4 checkpoints to locate, "The Cubs" are riders 10-12 years of age and will have 5 checkpoints, and "The Lions" are riders 13-14 years of age and will have 7 checkpoints. Lions Scramble medallions will be given to every rider upon completion and certificates will be given to the top three riders in each age group. The cost is $20 for individuals (ages 10-12 or 13-14) and $25 to register as a family.

Register online at Tehachapi Valley Recreation and Parks District site: http://www.tvrpd.org/events/lions-club-bike-scramble or on the day of the event at 8 a.m. at Philip Marx Central Park, East E Street. Helmets are required and will be available for purchase at the event. We encourage families and individual riders to take advantage of this opportunity to enjoy our wonderful city and to see who is the better navigator!
