Gary Gomes of Boy Scout Troop 135 in Bear Valley Springs became an Eagle Scout on January 24, 2017. For his Eagle Scout Project, he built a bench on the Pacific Crest Trail for the hikers to rest on and enjoy.

Gary started scouting as a Cub Scout and really enjoyed it, so he continued on to Webelos Scout and earned his Arrow of Light. He joined the Boy Scout troop and worked his way up through the ranks, holding different positions of responsibility.

Gary is also a member of the Order of the Arrow. The OA is most commonly known as the National Honor Society of the Boy Scouts of America.
