First Fridays have become a popular event of fun, refreshments, hospitality and shopping at all the participating venues.

Tehachapi Treasure Trove is located at 116 East Tehachapi Boulevard, right across the street from the water tower in Railroad Park. Featured artists will be April Heller and Meagan Bower (see article on this page).

Sheridan's Boutique Home Consignment at 108 W. Tehachapi Blvd. Due to unpredictable winter weather, Sheridan's has not been open for First Friday in February and March. We look forward to seeing you at First Friday starting in April.
Tehachapi Christian Store at 108 E. Tehachapi Blvd. is under new ownership and will be open on First Friday April 7. Finger foods will be available and entertainment by Marc Sillifant and friends.
Tehachapi Museum: Featuring Spring hats

April’s new exhibits at the Tehachapi Museum will include a collection of Spring hats and a rather scary apparatus used for giving permanent waves. It looks like something from a science fiction horror story.
The Family Case continues to feature the Cuddeback Family, early Tehachapi pioneers. Laura Weltin, a Cuddeback descendant, has collected pictures, research material, and family mementos related to her branch of the family. Also in the Textile Gallery is a small bottle collection that belonged to Leatta “Tootie” Anderson, Laura’s mother.
In the Museum’s main gallery Rita Romano’s 40 year collection of Wizard of Oz memorabilia is featured in the Community Case. Items range from figurines and books to prints.
Continuing in the Textile Gallery with the theme of fantasy is a sample of Bob Reynolds’ Disney memorabilia. His collection includes books, prints, clothing, character figures, snow globes, music boxes, DVDs, VHS tapes, over 100 Disney Christmas ornaments, dishes, glasses, and mugs.
If you like vintage hammered aluminum from the 1920s through 1950s, also known as poor man’s silver, the museum’s entire display will be offered at a 20% discount only on April’s First Friday. There are also some new basket making kits for sale ranging in price from $10 to $20. And a surprise is awaiting all visitors in our gift shop.
The Tehachapi Museum is open each First Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. serving wine, champagne, and appetizers. The Museum is at 310 South Green Street. Regular museum hours are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 12 to 4 p.m. For more information, call the museum at 822-8152.
Treasure Trove featuring Ancient Oak Sugar Scrubs

Having spent her entire life dealing with an assortment of skin problems that the dermatologists could not cure, April began her own research and realized how many toxins are used in commercial skin care products. Proposition 65 has become a reference point for dangerous chemicals and ingredients. She decided to create her own products from all natural ingredients - lo and behold her skin cleared up. In 2015 she started her own company to make and market her product. She has always enjoyed working with her hands and making things.
April retired from the US Navy and lived in San Diego for a number of years. Fifteen years ago, April applied for a job with GE Wind Energy in Tehachapi and still is employed there as Lead Services Program Manager. She has three grown children. Daughter, Meagan, works with her in the production and marketing of her product. Her son, Doug, who is attending college in San Diego assists with marketing in that area. The business is truly a family affair.
