Fundraiser to help local children, March 24

Kiwanis Club of Tehachapi

Tehachapi Community Theatre (TCT) has graciously given the Kiwanis Club of Tehachapi 60 tickets to the opening night of "The Best of Broadway" concert on Friday, March 24. Tickets are being sold to raise funds to help Kiwanis Club of Tehachapi do what they do best: Help local kids.

Tickets are $25 for adults, $15 for children, and it includes dinner. The Kiwanis Club will be serving George's Famous Chili, spaghetti, salad, and dessert at 6 p.m. inside Friendship Hall, at 100 East E St. in Downtown Tehachapi. The show will be at the BeeKay Theatre, 110 South Green St. Doors open at 7 p.m. for the 7:30 p.m. show.

Tehachapi Kiwanians donate to the local Salvation Army's after school program, help host Breakfast With Santa, raise funds for Coats for Kids, grant scholarships to local high school seniors, put on the local Prayer Breakfast on National Day of Prayer (May 4), donate personalized books for kindergarten children, support the local Key Club (a high school organization sponsored by Kiwanis International), and much more.

This event is a great way to have a fun evening on the town while helping Kiwanis at the same time.

Tickets are available from local Kiwanis members and at The Loop newspaper office at 206 S. Green St. in Downtown Tehachapi.

Can't make opening night? You can also purchase tickets for "The Best of Broadway" at Treasure Trove and Tehachapi Furniture, or online at tctonstage.com. The show opens Friday, March 24, at the beautiful BeeKay Theater, 110 S. Green St.

Through the "Tickets to Charity" program TCT donates tickets to a charitable organization. These tickets are for either opening night or the second night of the run. These tickets are then sold by the charitable organization for a price they set and they get to keep all of the money they raise. Visit http://www.tctonstage.com to apply for tickets for your organization.

The Kiwanis Club has service projects and other fundraisers coming up including a Murder Mystery Dinner they're planning for some time in May. Look for announcements in your local newspaper.

The Tehachapi Kiwanis CLUB meets Wednesdays at noon at Big Papa's Steakhouse, 1001 W Tehachapi Blvd. (Except for the fifth Wednesday of the month.) Guests and prospective members are always welcome. Please call (661) 822-5379 for further information.
