Meadowbrook Park & Playground Groundbreaking

Community members and officials including Cash the Wonder Dog joined TVRPD at the official Meadowbrook Park Groundbreaking on June 6.

Tehachapi Valley Recreation and Parks officially broke ground at the new Meadowbrook Park and Playground on the morning of June 6. TVRPD board members, staff and city officials were joined by many members of the community at the event. Cash the Wonder Dog, a sponsor of the new Dog Park, also put in an apprearance.

With earth moving equipment already working behind him, TVRPD Board Chairman Craig Miflin proudly displayed the "Certificate of Recognition" presented by Supervisor Scrivner in honor of the Meadowbrook Park upgrade.

"Today is a monumental day for TVRPD," said General Manager LeAnn Williams, "I am very honored to be here." She and Maintenance Supervisor Nolan Ferdinand will be managing the project that has been in the planning stage for some time. She also acknowledged prior GM Matt Young and former board members Gayle Stewart and Nick Cyr for all their hard work on the project. Williams also thanked Supervisor Zack Scrivner, the City of Tehachapi and the Golden Hills CSD for supporting the project.

TVRPD Board Chairman Craig Miflin said how proud and happy he was to be there. He thanked Williams for stepping up to the plate in mid-project. "These projects don't happen by themselves," said Miflin. County Supervisor Zack Scrivner then presented Miflin and TVRPD with a Certificate of Recognition from the County of Kern.
