Miss Rodeo Kern County

 

Fourteen lovely young rodeo queen candidates waited at center stage of the rodeo arena at the Stampede Days Rodeo for the announcement of the new Miss Rodeo Kern County. The contestants competed all week long in a series of contests including horsemanship, rodeo knowledge and current affairs, miss photogenic, and miss congeniality. A series of fabulous prizes were awarded for each of the contestant categories. A speech and modeling contest was held at the picturesque Noriega House in Bakersfield. The week also featured a fashion show at the historic Guild House where the contestants modeled fashions by Peter Pan, Apricot Lane, Sugar Daddies and Christine's. A second fashion show was held on Saturday, May 7 at the Marketplace in Bakersfield with beautiful fashions from White House/Black Market, Chico's, Charming Charlie's and Talbots. Queen Alicia Aluisi and her royal court of Jr. Queen Maggie Hammon , Princess Maycee Knight, Jr. Princess Isabella Actis, and Tiny Princess Lynley Hayek. The MRKC queen and her royal court were awarded custom made chaps, incredibly beautiful hand tooled saddles, and fabulous handmade royal crowns.

Miss Rodeo Kern County and her court will travel the valley representing both the Tehachapi Mountain Rodeo Association and the Kern County Sheriffs Mounted Posse behind the wheel of a Dodge Ram Truck graciously provided for the queen during her year of reign by Hunter Dodge of Lancaster, the "Ram of the West" dealership. As Miss Rodeo Kern County queen, Alicia was awarded a horse trailer proudly displaying all of the generous sponsors who helped to make this pageant special. MRKC queen and her royal court will be featured at the Tehachapi Mountain Rodeo Associations July 4th Benz Bad Bulls bull ride, and the two day PRCA Rodeo August 19 and 20 at the Tehachapi Event Center and Rodeo Grounds at 601 Dennison Road in Tehachapi. The MRKC royal court will also escort the Kern County Mounted Sheriffs Posse in a variety of parades and events throughout the year.
