Moats & Hebebrand CPAs

Local CPA office gears up for 2015 tax returns

Your Tax Preparer

Moats & Hebebrand CPAs at 212 West F Street in Tehachapi is anxiously preparing for the upcoming filing of 2015 tax returns and making improvements to enhance the tax, bookkeeping, payroll and accounting services it offers for 2016. One of the most readily apparent changes is in office staff. Dave Hebebrand, CPA has brought in Sherry O’Connor as receptionist. Sherry worked in Dave’s Porterville CPA practice prior to his selling that practice, and has 17 years of experience as an accomplished secretary and bookkeeper, drawing on her knowledge of Quickbooks, payroll, tax and clerical matters.

The office has also added Debbie Greer who possess 20 years of experience to handle the payroll services we provide to our clients and to assist Virginia in providing bookkeeping services. One benefit of local payroll services lies in the fact that our office can adjust to our clients preferences (we can direct deposit checks into an employee’s bank account, print payroll checks for the client to pick up, or transmit the payroll check stubs by FAX or email and the client can write the payroll checks).

Local services also eliminate having to deal with a centralized processing center located who knows where. The main benefit is localized personal service to straighten out anything that is amiss and keep our clients compliant with all required payroll filings. Virginia Ferrari (Virg) an Enrolled Agent licensed by the Department of the Treasury to practice before the Internal Revenue Service continues to provide personal and business income tax services and specializes in small business accounting. Virg enjoys setting up small business accounting systems to assist clients in organizing and summarizing their accounting data, as well as consulting with clients to assist them in handling transactions they are not familiar with. Virg has 43 years of experience and is willing (after tax season is over) to provide Quickbooks training (and answer follow up questions) for clients who want to maintain their accounting records on Quickbooks, and then have our office prepare the tax returns from the client’s Quickbooks information.

Dave Hebebrand, CPA continues to supervise the office, to provide the compiled and reviewed financial statements required by client’s banks and other third parties relying on a CPA’s attestation services. Dave prepares the more complicated tax returns, provides consultations regarding tax and estate planning, and analysis of financial statements. Dave’s experience allows him to provide his services to corporations, partnerships, LLC’s, trusts, estates, non-profits and special districts.

Duane R Moats, CPA has semi-retired and is only providing tax preparation services to the clients for whom he prepared 2014 tax returns, while continuing to provide trustee services for select clients. Dave Hebebrand, CPA and Virginia Ferrari, EA will be providing tax services for new tax clients. As has always been the case, all licensed personnel within the Moats & Hebebrand CPAs office continue to meet and exceed all continuing education requirements to ensure they are current on changes in the tax law, in conformity with standards required in preparing financial statements, and informed regarding developments to assist and advise their clients.
