Free dog care/ training classes offered by local expert

 

Have a Heart Humane Society if offering free dog training classes to 20 lucky Tehachapi kids beginning this January. Local dog training expert, Rosemary Evans, will be conducting the classes.

Each class consists of two sessions, the first one covering things dogs need to thrive and be happy such as proper nutrition, exercise, training, attention and love. During the second session, kids will be invited to bring their family dog and learn some simple tricks and play some crate games.

Classes are: Jan. 14 and 21 for kids age

9 -11 and Jan. 11 and 18 for kids 12-14.

Kids who successfully complete the class with go home with a bag of premium dog food, a one-year subscription to Kind News (an 8 pg. magazine published by the ASPCA) and a certificate of completion.

Dogs must be leash-trained, friendly with kids and other dogs, altered and up to date on vaccinations (vet proof required).

Reservations are on a first come first serve basis. To register email Haveaheart@bak.rr.com and include name and age of dog, proof of spay or neuter and vaccinations, child's name and age.
