Christmas is almost here

Dr Brady the 'Spine Guy'

Christmas is coming and apparently so is El Nino, whether we like it or not. It’s getting colder, there is more snow and ice, more rain, it’s more windy, and more foggy, and so on and so on.

So, what should we do when all these things happen? Do we stay hunkered down inside and only come out when the sun shines? That doesn’t sound feasible at all.

If you are anything like me, you still have to go out and get things done because it is just a regular day in Tehachapi. You dress according to what’s happening weather-wise outside your front door and go on about your business. Hail, rain, snow or shine.

However, you must be a little more careful when the roads and sidewalks are slick and sliding you all over the place. But alas, sometimes you just don’t see that patch of ice and down you go. Damn, that hurts.

Hopefully it’s just your rear end and your ego that has been bruised and you don’t have to make a trip to the ER. These seemingly minor falls and bumps can and most times do cause some injury that you may not be aware of for a few days, or on rare occasions, weeks.

If that happens to you and you’re not happy with the way you are healing, give me a call at (661) 823 8888. A checkup and, if necessary, an adjustment will have you back on your feet as quickly as possible. But remember, be careful out there.

To change the subject a little, some of my patients know by now that Dr. Brian Martin closed his Tehachapi practice and left the state. I was designated to be the custodian of records for Dr. Martin and therefore the patient records can now be accessed at my office. I attempted to see his patients and blend them into my practice, but that turned out to be way too much for me and I was unable to give the care that my patients have come to expect. I have hired another chiropractor named Howard Kwasman from Bakersfield and he is working on Tuesdays and Thursdays to take care of many of Dr. Martin’s patients.

I am really sorry for the inconvenience that was created by the closure of Dr. Martin’s office, but Dr. Kwasman and I will do our very best to accommodate all of his patients.

My office takes most of the insurance plans accepted by Dr. Martin. If you are not sure if we accept your plan, call our office at (661) 823-8888 and talk to my office manager, Cathy, and she will check on it for you.

Remember, be careful in the snow and ice and call my office if you need to make an appointment.
