Charlee featured at Treasure Trove

First Friday

First Friday Fun Fest. The featured artist will be Charlotte Ruse who markets her crafts under the name Charlee. Charlotte creates handmade jewelry, unique handbags, and decorative home décor jewelry boxes. Join us to greet Charlotte, enjoy food and wine and listen to music by Art Larson on clarinet.

Charlotte moved to Tehachapi from Lake Isabella about two years ago. She came looking for an area with prettier scenery, a larger population and greater resources. She was born in Utah and grew up primarily in the San Fernando Valley. Charlotte raised her three children in Southern California and then later moved to Northern California and eventually to Lake Isabella,

Charlotte has been making and selling Jewelry for about 20 years. She has sold her creations at various festivals and has rented sales space in shops. She started making jewelry after seeing a pair of earrings that she admired and decided that she could make fine jewelry her own. Charlotte has taken one class in wire wrapping and has learned the rest of her skills on her own. All of her work is of her own original design.

Charlotte describes her creations:

• "One of a kind jewelry, hand made from top quality semi-precious stones, freshwater pearls and beautiful beads from around the world, strung or wrapped with copper, silver and gold plate.

• "Unique denim handbags, embellished with beads, embroidery and applique, all beautifully lined with coordinating fabrics.

• "Stunning handmade beaded evening bags, lined with one of a king vintage fabrics and embellished, hand beaded

• "Whimsical little jewelry boxes, beaded and lined with felt."

In addition to her shop here at the Treasure Trove, Charlotte owns a Legal Documents business here in town. In her spare time, in addition to making jewelry and purses, she cooks, paints, sews, grows herbs, and works in textile arts including knitting, crocheting and weaving.
