What's up in Stallion Springs?

Brats and beer at the Oktoberfest

The Oktoberfest held on Saturday, Oct. 3 was a rousing success. CSD's General Manager Lori Rodgers estimated there were over 1,200 attendees during the six hour period. Brats and beer flowed freely and vendors did quite well at selling their goods. Everybody's looking forward to next year's event.

November Election

There will be Town Hall Meetings held on Friday, October 23 at 6 p.m. and Saturday October 24 to discuss Measure B on the November Ballot. A "yes" vote on the measure by at least two-thirds-of-the-voters would provide a $50 per parcel tax for police protection services within the Stallion Springs CSD. The funds would be used to pay for police protection personnel and other necessary police related expenses. No funds will be used for other purposes. Beginning in 2017 the $50 tax will be levied on each parcel within the district. This tax will make no difference in your current tax bill as it will be replacing the tax that has been used to pay for the administration building.

Library

The Stallion Springs Library is looking for volunteers, three-hour shifts per week, or per month.  Please call Emma Holm at (661)822-1385 or email her at mholm16@yahoo.com.

Fall Cleanup

Fall Cleanup Day will be held on Saturday, Oct. 17. The CSD will accept e-waste (including computers, monitors, and other electronics), metal, furniture, mattresses, appliances, etc. Sensitive material will also be accepted for shredding. No hazardous materials like tires, paint, oil, etc. or building materials will be accepted. The new location for the cleanup will be on Churchill Street at the CSD lot behind the District office. Free to Stallion Springs residents.
