What's Up in Stallion Springs?

 

Stallion Springs Officer Neil Record looks on as Stallion CERT members begin a simulated rescue of a person trapped under rubble.

The Stallion Springs Board of Directors held a Special Board Meeting on Thursday, Aug.6, to approve a resolution required by the state, implementing a policy in regard to the Healthy Workplace, Healthy Families Act of 2014 providing three sick days of paid leave annually/ AB1522. California Governor Brown signed the bill into law effective July 1, 2015.

The Board also discussed the possible purchase or lease of a new police car. The board requested additional information be provided for further consideration at the August 18 regular board meeting.

CERT

The Stallion Springs CERT team held its regular monthly meeting on August 5 at the Stallion Springs CERT Headquarters at the corner of Stallion Springs Drive & Bold Venture. The subject was Search & Rescue. Stallion Springs Police Officer Neil Record gave a class on the proper procedures to rescue persons trapped by falling debris. Property Owners Association

The Property Owners Association

will hold its Annual Meet and Great on August 29 in the Corral Room at the Community Center from 6 to 9 p.m.

Free food and non-alcoholic beverages.

A no-host bar with wine and beer will also be available.

Come and meet new people and reunite with old friends.

Parks and Recreation

S'mores N Snores Family Campout will be held Friday August 22 beginning at

8 p.m. Tent camping only, $10 per family. Families provide their own dinner. The Parks Department will provide s'mores for dessert. No pets allowed. Sign up at the CSD Office.

Upcoming Events

Neighborhood Watch meetings are on the third Wednesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. at the CSD/PD Building. Our next meeting will be Aug. 9. Everyone is invited to attend the meetings. You do not have to reside in Stallion Springs to attend.

Stallion Springs Board of Directors meet on the third Tuesday of every month. The August meeting will be on Tuesday August 18 at 6 p.m. at the CSD Board Room.

CERT will meet at the Cert Building at the Corner of Stallion Springs Blvd. and Bold Venture next to Woodward West Center on Sept. 2 at 6 p.m.

Houchin Blood Drives are scheduled at the Community Center on Sept. 5 and October 31, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the CSD Parking lot.

Octoberfest will be held on October 3 from Noon to 6 p.m. at the Community Center
