'Charlee' now at Treasure Trove

Business Spotlight

Charlee (Charlotte Ruse) has been making jewelry for over 20 years. One day, when at an arts & crafts festival, she saw a pair of earrings and, noting the price, she thought, "I can make that." So she went to a class, learned how to wrap jewelry and that was that.

After doing arts and crafts festivals for more years than she cares to admit to, Charlotte decided, "Enough with this hauling stuff all over the state." She began selling her wares to shops in Northern California, hired a couple friends to help make the stuff, and kept busy selling her original designs to about a dozen shops from Mendocino to Sonoma, and everywhere in between. She'd found her calling!

When Charlotte moved to Southern California with her husband Tommy in 2003, making jewelry became a hobby. But, when they moved to Tehachapi, she decided it was time return to what she really loves.

Please come by the Tehachapi Treasure Trove and see all her new creations, which now include handmade bags and darling little hand painted jewelry boxes.

Charlee's Grand Opening at the Treasure Trove, 116 E. Tehachapi Bl., Tehachapi is on Friday, June 19 from 3 to 5 p.m. Ribbon cutting is at 3:30 p.m. Snacks and refreshments will be served.

See you there!
