Mary Alvarez is the new owner of Golden Hills Salon. She has given the salon a fresh updated look and is well on her way to creating a truly full family salon. Congratulations to Mary and welcome to Tehachapi.
Golden Hills Salon has a long standing tradition of customer service and quality salon services, and it will only get better from here. The salon is open six days a week from 9-6 p.m., closed Sundays. They are located at 20021 Valley Blvd, Suite C in the Golden Hills area of Tehachapi (next to Carlos’ Donuts and Java Loop Express). We would like to introduce you to the staff of Golden Hills Salon:
Mary Alvarez is the salon’s barber and new owner. She moved to Tehachapi from Bakersfield when she bought the existing Golden Hills Salon this February. Mary has been barbering for 27 years; she was trained in Orange County by master barbers. Her goal is to have the salon be a “family place” where she can watch children grow up, and have a friendly place their parents can come to for their haircare needs. She would especially like to meet local correctional officers, military active duty, and veterans, as she is an army mom, herself. Please come in, she’d love to meet you. Walk-ins welcome.
Terry Schaffer is the salon’s manicurist. She has lived in Tehachapi for 23 years, has been a manicurist for 27, and she has been at Golden Hills Salon for 3 years. While she can do pretty much everything from acrylics to dry-pedicures, Terry is currently promoting gel-polish manicures. Terry is a believer and says it’s time to replace acrylics with gel-polish, “You will get strength and beauty with your own natural nails, and a gel manicure that will last up to 2 weeks!” She offers a variety of colors to choose from, including French white tip. Ginger Kunstmann is one of the salon’s stylists. She is a master at cutting, perming, and coloring hair - and she’s so busy you’ll have to make an appointment by calling Golden Hills Salon at (661) 823-0880. Ginger has been with the salon for over 5 years, lived in Tehachapi for well over 20 years, and has been a licensed stylist for 25 plus years.
Ginger provides the highest quality of service with a gentle touch, and a creativity that translates a hairstyle into something artistic. Known for her “Custom Creative Professional” hair styles, she has women, men and children as clients.
Maritza Calderon is a stylist and colorist at the salon, with almost 10 years of experience. She is very thorough with her consultations. Maritza a 20 year Tehachapi resident, a friendly hairdresser, she is well liked by the other staff and has a loyal clientele. Walk-ins are welcome.
The staff, both old and new, are looking forward to meeting new clients, taking care of current clients, and helping you with all of your hair- and nail-care needs. They also have professional hair-care products for sale in the salon.
