Sporting clay shoot signups

 

The date has been set for the 7th Annual Sporting Clay Shoot, hosted by Tehachapi Mountains Search & Rescue.

"We are glad to announce that April 11 we will be holding our annual Sporting Clay Shoot at the Kern County Gun Club," Robin Jackson, TMSAR member said.

Shooters can sign up as individuals or in teams of four. You can even request being added to a team if there are spots open.

The cost of the entry is $75 per person, or $300 per team, "only if you book prior to March 30," Jackson said.

If you miss that window you can still sign up all the way to shoot time on the day of the shoot for $80 per person, and $320 per team.

"Women, men and youth shooters are welcome at this Sporting Clay shoot as usual," TMSAR member Dory Kline reminds.

"Last year's shoot saw a trained youth, ten-years-old, not only earn an award for his accuracy, but joined his preteen brother, their father and a friend earn a team award, too," Kline said.


Entry into the Sporting Clay Shoot includes lunch, a soda, one gun raffle ticket, and one regular raffle ticket, per shooter. Other raffle tickets can be purchased for, "Guns, shooting supplies and other great items," Jackson said. As well as a day of fun with friends, new and old alike.

There will be up to 20 stations to rotate the competitors through. One hundred rounds of ammunition will be needed for the competition. "The rounds can be purchased at the Gun Club that morning if need be," TMSAR member Dory Kline said.

Trophies will be awarded to the Best Shooter, Best Team, Best Junior shooter and Best Female shooter. All trophies will be earned based on accuracy and the number of clays broken by each shooter.

The location for the 7th Annual Sporting Clay Shoot is the Kern County Gun Club located at 12450 Shotgun Rd, Bakersfield, Calif. Event day registration will begin at 8 a.m., shooting will begin at 9 a.m.

"Remember, the TMSAR is an all volunteer unit, and we put on events like this so we can continue to 'search, so others may live'. So, your support with the purchase of a raffle ticket, an entry or even calling one of us to pick up a raffle donation item is greatly appreciated," Jackson said.

Registration forms can be downloaded from the TMSAR.org website and be mailed into the TMSAR at P.O. Box 972, Tehachapi, CA 93581.
