Rotary Club wine pairing a huge success

On Saturday, Jan. 31 the Rotary Club of Tehachapi hosted its second annual Wine Pairing Dinner featuring the wines of Tobin James Cellars. The event was a sell out and the 80 participants had a great evening at The Shed (formerly The Apple Shed), 333 E Tehachapi Blvd, where they experienced some of the new cuisine that will soon be offered at the restaurant.

The evening started with appetizers of venison, buffalo and boar sliders served with Tobin James Radiance (Chardonnay). This was followed by West African vegetable soup which had a completely unique taste, including sweet potatoes, raisins, and cinnamon, which paired beautifully with the Tobin James Cellars Malbec. The main course featured organic grass-fed prime rib, cooked to order, with rice pilaf and veggies. This was paired with Tobin James Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon.

Charisma, Tobin James’ dessert wine was served chilled with a wild berry tart drizzled with white chocolate.

Rotary truly wants to thank owner Mano Lujan and the staff at The Shed for a tasteful and wonderful evening. They could not have been more attentive, welcoming and timely in their delivery of the food. Tobin James Cellars were a delight to work with and the wines were superb. They also appreciate all of the local merchants and donors of items for their silent auction. Without the generosity of these donations Rotary could not achieve their fundraising goal for the event. Thank you!
