Tehachapi Christmas Bird Count

The 115th Annual Audubon Christmas Bird Count will take place Dec 14, 2014 to Jan. 5, 2015.  The longest running Citizen Science survey in the world, Christmas Bird Count provides critical data on population trends. Tens of thousands of participants know that it is also a lot of fun.

Our annual Tehachapi Christmas Bird Count will be held on Monday Dec. 22nd. We will meet with our out-of –town compiler, for breakfast at 6 a.m. at Henry's Cafe on Tucker Road and go from there. At the end of the day we will meet at Denny's off of highway 58 to compile our sightings.

Everyone is invited to join us for this fun-filled bird counting day in Tehachapi. Rain, snow or shine. Only birds seen on that day are going to be counted so we need lots of people looking.

If you want to count birds closer to your home but can't make it to the compiling sites. You can submit your sightings for that day to me; mrydfrm@gmail.com

A half hour counting birds in your area would be greatly appreciated by all.
