Photo above left, light and shadow play on the hillsides of the eastern Tehachapi range Dec. 4, 2014, two days after a refreshing rainfall of .72 inches of rain (source: http://mountainbase.com). The view is to the north. At the center is the electrical substation operated by Terra-Gen that delivers power to Edison's Windhub substation on Oak Creek Road in Mojave for connection to the main grid. Power from the 28 Terra-Gen turbines near Tehachapi flows into the Terra-Gen-operated substation at 34.5 kilovolts, where it is boosted to 230 kilovolts and subsequently to 500 kilovolts at Windhub to enter the grid that provides power to a large portion of central-southern California – including the city of Los Angeles – from Mono and most of Inyo and Tulare counties, to the eastern half of Kern County to most of San Bernardino, Riverside, Orange, Los Angeles and Ventura counties.

Photo bottom right, a triptych quilt that echoes the grace of nature, crafted by Mary Landon. The quilt hangs in the Terra-Gen Mojave office.
