Festival Donates Over $11,000 to Local Charities

Tehachapi, CA. – Calling it a "community success" the Tehachapi Mountain Brew and Grill Fest is donating over $11,000 to local charities including the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central California, Tehachapi Boy Scout Troop 136, AYSO Region 479, Tehachapi Lyons Club, Tehachapi VALLEY WRESTLING CLUB, Kiwanis of Tehachapi, Rotary Club of Tehachapi, Rotaract Club of Tehachapi, Tehachapi Masonic Lodge 313, Marley's Mutts, Save Tehachapi's Orphaned Pets and Kelly's Therapeutic Riders.

"We are so happy that our event could be so impactful to our local charities," said David Brust organizer and founder of the Tehachapi Mountain Brew and Grill Fest. Most of the local non-profits provided volunteers to set-up and run the event. Each volunteer received a festival T-Shirt, souvenir glass, dinner and a donation to their local charity of choice. "There aren't a lot of events in town that create the kind of win-win situation our festival does. I also need to thank Linda Carhart for all her help," said Brust.

The Tehachapi Mountain Brew and Grill Fest had close to 1,000 people in attendance and many of those were attending from out of town. Area hotels and restaurants did a brisk business the weekend of the festival.

So what's up next for the Tehachapi Mountain Brew and Grill Fest? "We are looking at every aspect of the festival not just the things that went well, but the things that need improvement," said Brust. He says there will be some great changes to the event that will come out in the New Year. For now he's focusing on the Tehachapi Apple Festival, Oct. 11 and 12 another event that helps local charities get donations. Brust said "Our goal has always been to help local charities, put on great events and promote the Tehachapi area to tourists and locals.
