The Pool is Open!

What's Up in Stallion Springs?

 

The swimming pool at the Stallion Springs Community Center opened on June 7. Two sessions of lessons are still available, Session 2, from July 7 through 18, and Session 3, from July 28 through August 8. There are classes for Guppies, ages 3-5 and very beginners on Monday - Friday from 11 to 11:45 a.m. Goldfish, ages six and up that have basic water skills, Monday through Friday, 10 to 10:45 a.m., and Dolphins, age 8 and up to learn more advanced techniques, Monday through Friday, 9 to 9:45 a.m. There will also be a Mommy and Me class for children six months to four years of age for the parent and child to share fun activities and build water confidence on Aug. 4 to 8 from 10 to 10:45 a.m. For more information on these classes contact the CSD.

Recreational swim passes for residents and non-residents, 25 use passes and daily passes are available at the CSD. Family Season passes and Adult Lap Swim are also available. For times and fees contact the CSD at 661-822-3268.

Community Garden

The 4H club will hold a Grand Opening for the Community Garden on June 22 from 2 to 5 p.m. There are still a few boxes left. To get in on the fun and raise your own vegetables contact Lea Martinez at 661-822-0270 or Amy McKendrick at 661-917-2532.

Police Department

The Stallion Springs Police Department has implemented an online reporting system. To file a report online go to

http://www.mysscsd.com under the Police Department tab. This reporting system is for fraud, identity theft, animal complaints, crime tips, etc.

Parks and Recreation

Kids Day Camp for kids ages six to 11, Week 1 (June 30 to July 4) and Week 2 (July 28 to Aug. 1). Camp will have sporting activities, crafts, swimming and more. Bring your own lunch and drink. Fees are $20 per day or $90 for the entire week. To sign up for the week or just a day contact the CSD.

Kids Craft, Saturday, July 5 at 10 a.m. Design and create your own dream catcher.

Pool Party, July 4. Fun and games at the community pool, water balloon games, pool games, races, jumping contests, and more. Regular pool hours. Make your reservations now.

Kids Volleyball Camp, July 7 through 11. Volleyball instruction for those who have never played and skill improvement for those who have. Beginners, geared to those in Sixth to Eighth grade, 8 to 9:30 a.m. and Advanced 9:30 to 11 a.m.
