There is a great variety of fruit at the Farmers Market.
The 2018 Tehachapi Farmer's Market has begun and will continue every Thursday through Aug. 16 on Green Street in Downtown Tehachapi. Market hours will be 4 to 7:30 p.m. with farm fresh produce, prepared food vendors, and local arts, crafts and other vendors. Many of last year's favorites will be returning and there are a few new ones this year. There will be free activities for children sponsored by Christian Life Assembly and also by a group of Cummings Valley School teachers.
The market is produced by Main Street Tehachapi and is sponsored by Adventist Health, Travel by Jenni, The Loop Newspaper, and Waste Management. Adventist Health will be opening the new Tehachapi Hospital this summer and is the major sponsor of the Farmer's Market as part of their initiative to promote healthy choices for Tehachapians. Travel by Jenni is a downtown Tehachapi business as is The Loop Newspaper. This is the first year for Waste Management to be a major sponsor as they are also new in Tehachapi. Main Street is grateful to the sponsors as they are making it possible to continue the Farmer's Market and to provide a summer long festival on Thursdays in Downtown Tehachapi.
Come out and stay awhile for a date night or bring the kids, listen to live music, and enjoy the food from the vendors. There is always plenty of fresh produce and baked goods and the downtown restaurants will be open.
