Spring Fling at CALM scheduled for March 24 – 31

Spring Fling is scheduled for March 24-31, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the California Living Museum. As a way of welcoming springtime to Bakersfield and coinciding with spring break for local schools, all children 12 and under will be admitted FREE when accompanied by an adult.

During the week, CALM docents and animal keepers will be on site to give visitors up-close-and-personal animal encounters with four "Keeper Chats" each day.

Visitors will have a chance to check out the new sea life in CALM's California Coast Room intertidal touch tank. The Coast Room's newest residents include two bat stars, two decorator crabs, a kelp crab, three turban snails, a jeweled top snail and hermit crabs.

Guests may also conquer the Condor Challenge, CALM's 32-foot rock climbing tower for FREE!

If all that wasn't enough fun, the Central Valley Children's Railroad will be chugging along the tracks from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day (weather permitting). The train is appropriate for all ages and tickets are only $1 per person.

A food and beverage booth will be provided by Hunsaker Brothers Carnie Corn.

CALM is located only 15 minutes from downtown Bakersfield and 40 minutes from Tehachapi at 10500 Alfred Harrell Hwy (between Lake Ming and Hart Park).

For more information, call CALM at (661) 872-2256 or visit the website calmzoo.org or our Facebook page.
