Cheers to Charity: Homebrew Edition, Oct. 28

Area homebrewers are at it again as they prepare dozens of unique homebrewed beers for the Oct. 28 Cheers to Charity: Homebrew Edition tasting event. Phillip Marx Central Park provides a beautiful shaded canopy and lush grounds for an afternoon of homebrew magic. The tasting event will feature stouts, ales and IPAs. Tickets include a glass and all tastings. Both white and red wines will also be poured for those preferring vino to beer. Food will be available for purchase.

Cheers to Charity: Homebrew Edition will feature only homebrewed beer, no commercially-produced selections will be poured in the homebrew area. Andy Franchere, a local homebrewer, is heading up the homebrew team of entrants. "I'm excited about the types of beer we will be serving. There will be ales, stouts and several IPAs – something for everyone. We are excited to share our craft and jump start the 2018 Cheers to Charity fundraising," Franchere said.

The Cheers to Charity committee reinvests proceeds from local events back into the community. 2018 will mark the 5th year of raising money for local charities. In the first four years, Cheers to Charity has donated in excess of $111,000 into the greater Tehachapi community.

Held in conjunction with the BrewFondo, Cheers to Charity: Homebrew Edition is Saturday, Oct. 28, from 11 until 3 p.m., at Phillip Marx Central Park. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. Tickets can be purchased at Tehachapi Valley Recreation and Parks District or online at Eventbrite.com. Ticket sales are limited to the first 200 purchased.

Cheers to Charity: Homebrew Edition is a great way to hang out with friends, meet local brewers and turn compassion into action. Cheers!
