Changes in the works for TVRPD

Tehachapi Valley Reacreation and Park District is undergoing some organizational changes. At her first meeting as General Manager of TVRPD, Michelle Vance announced that the district has hired Bill Fisher, currently General Manager of Golden Hills Community Service District, as the new Operations Manager. Fisher will be on staff full time as soon as he fulfills his obligations to the GHCSD. Board Clerk Carrie Champlin will become the District's new Business Manager.

Vance said that with all the work that has already been done in the District parks, it is time to focus on Brite Lake. She reminded the Board that Brite Lake is the District's major money-making asset and could possibly someday finance keeping the pool open longer, perhaps even all year. She also has plans to make reservations for spaces at Brite Lake available online. Board member Kaleb Judy and President Laura Lynn Wyatt volunteered to be part of a Brite Lake Committee to explore ways to improve the facility.

The Board unanimously approved the new Budget for Fiscal Year 2017/2018 as well as the projected five year budget.
