On Tuesday, July 25, Assemblyman Vince Fong visited the City of Tehachapi and met with city officials and toured city facilities.

"It was a great visit. We got a chance to talk about several things that impact the greater Tehachapi area. He was very gracious with his time and is genuinely interested in what's happening in this part of Kern County," said Greg Garrett Tehachapi City Manager.

Mr. Fong spent approximately two hours with city staff and officials including Mayor Ed Grimes. Items discussed included improved regional transportation, improvements for Highway 58 and 202, the High Speed Rail Project, the Indirect Potable Reuse Project and new businesses in Tehachapi.

Mr. Fong toured the City of Tehachapi's Public Works Department, Wastewater Treatment Facility, City Hall and attended the grand opening of a new business.

"The great takeaway from our meeting was that Assemblyman Fong clearly understands that small towns like Tehachapi still deal with issues of statewide concern. We were happy to have support and insight into how to best handle those issues so that Tehachapi residents can maintain an incredible quality of life," said Christopher Kirk, Assistant City Manager.
