Relay for Life ramping up

We are a few weeks away from Relay for Life 2017 on Saturday, July 8 at Meadowbrook Park, sponsored by "Adventist Health." Thirty teams to date are preparing their booths, to provide fun activities and prizes!

Behind these activities are deeper reasons why people Relay! Tehachapi has been hit hard by cancer. Too often, we hear of someone being diagnosed. One in three people will be diagnosed and one in two people will be affected. No longer do you have to have a family history. Scary statistics. Thankfully, great strides have been made in research to increase survivorship. More than 15.5 million people in the U.S. are now surviving, thriving and living longer after cancer than ever before!!

A large part of this comes from the money raised from "Relay for Life" for Research and the many programs the American Cancer Society (ACS) offers.

One Relay Team, captain is alive today because ACS took successful research for a rare Leukemia, from other countries to the FDA for approval. Others Relay for loved ones lost; humans and pets. Others Relay for loved ones still here; survivors who provide hope and inspiration for people going through the fight.

People can sign up until Thursday, July 6 as an individual, a team, join one or donate to one at http://www.RelayforLife.org/TehachapiCA . Our smaller teams are examples of not having to be a large team or have a large sponsor to participate! One also does not have to be on a team to come out for the day and enjoy the festivities!

Join the cause of raising funds and walking for "Relay for Life." Sharing, caring and fighting together to win this fight! There will never be a finish line until a cure is found!
