What's Up in Stallion Springs?

CSD staff has begun notification and mailing of majority protest information per Proposition 218 and set a Public Hearing date of June 20, 2017 at 6 p.m. in the Stallion Springs CSD Community Center. Terry Schroepfer of Provost and Prichard Consulting Group presented a report to the Stallion Springs CSD Board of Directors on the Water Rate Study at the April 18 meeting.

The study covered the revenue requirements from utility rates to recover, operating and maintenance expenses, a capital improvement program, satisfying bond covenants and policy objectives. One of the major new costs for water is the requirement for water banking and the associated costs. The text of the report is available CSD website Stallionspringscsd.com or stop by the office for further information.

Weed Abatement

Spring is here and the weeds are too. Make sure you clear your property by June 15, which is the State of CA deadline. If you have any questions or need further clarification on clearance requirements, you can contact the Fire Department or District office. Let’s be proactive and keep Stallion safe from the threat of fire.

CERT

The Stallion Springs CERT Team held its regular meeting on Wed. May 3 The meeting was centered on the need for preparation and planning for large animals in the event of an emergency. Dominic Dieken and Cathy White gave a presentation encouraging residents to have their own plans and be adequately prepared in the event an evacuation becomes necessary. For large animals residents are encouraged to evacuate their animals to friends or acquaintances that have facilities for them or to the Tehachapi Rodeo Grounds where there are corrals and plenty of parking space. The next meeting is scheduled for June 7, at 6:30 p.m. at the CSD.

The CERT team will be participating in the following upcoming events. Come join in the fun.

Police Reports

For your convenience the Stallion Springs Police Department has added an online police report section.

Please note that online reports are intended for offenses that do not require a police response.  Completing an online report is for documentation and/or insurance purposes only and will not result in a police officer responding to the scene.  This does not preclude follow-up investigation by an officer if further investigation is needed.
