2017 Farmers Market starts May 4

The variety of fruit at the 2016 Farmers Market was great.

Main Street Tehachapi will be presenting Farmers Market to Tehachapi earlier this year, with a move from Railroad Park to Green Street. The market will begin on May 4 this season, and continue every Thursday through Aug. 17. Market hours will be 4 to 8 p.m. with a focus on more food vendors, produce, and gourmet food trucks.

Come out and stay awhile for a date night, listen to some live music, and enjoy the new food truck offerings!

Bring the kids! Get a jump on your weekend shopping with new varieties of produce and artisan foods.

We are looking for a few more vendors! Non-food vendors have the option of registering for either of two eight-week sessions at the rate of only $110, or both sessions for just $200 per space. The Farmers Market will run for two consecutive 8-week sessions. Session I runs May 4 - June 22, and Session II from June 29 - Aug. 17. Spaces are 10 x 10 feet, and are awarded on a first come first served basis, so register early! We will do our best to accommodate you. A limited amount of electrical power is available.

What type of vendors may participate? Food vendors, craftspeople, purveyors of unique American made items, and non profit or community service groups. Non profit or community service groups wanting to distribute information may rent a space for just $10, or $30 if you will also be doing fundraising.

Vendors must supply their own tables, tents or whatever is needed to display their wares. Vendors are expected to attend each session for which they have registered, have their space set up and ready to sell by 4 p.m. each Thursday, and break down at 8 p.m. closing. Applications are available on the website at http://www.mainstreettehachapi.org. You can also call (661) 822-6519, leave a message, and a Main Street volunteer will get back to you. The application deadline is April 21, 2017, so don't miss out!
