The new Tehachapi hospital at 1100 Magellan Drive appears ready to open its doors and save lives... but there's more to be done before the official opening in the third quarter of 2017. Some remodeling of the hospital pharmacy is taking place to meet new California hospital building codes, and the complex process of licensing will take months.

The curved glass wall of the hospital cafeteria faces west toward the healing garden and the hills of the Loop Ranch. The people of the Tehachapi area by way of the Tehachapi Valley Healthcare District built the state-of-the-art medical facility, with Adventist Health coming on board to provide crucial funding to finish construction. Adventist Health will operate the hospital under a 30-year lease.
