Give the gift of Christmas to local foster children

Inside Tehachapi Koinonia Family Services office sits a Christmas tree adorned with foster children's "wishes".

Wish tags are available to be picked up and fulfilled weekdays 9 a.m. to 4 p.m at the Tehachapi Koinonia office (20432 Valley Blvd., Suite C) or at Joyful Junction Preschool (20110 Park Rd., Tehachapi).

The gifts will go to Koinonia children in the East Kern area. Gifts need to be delivered by December 12, unwrapped, to the Tehachapi Koinonia Family Services office.

Koinonia Family Services is also looking for gift cards (to local restaurants, stores, etc.) to help them provide food for their annual Christmas party.

Koinonia's mission is to provide the highest quality treatment foster care, adoption and family service programs available for children, youth and their families whose special needs can be met through services delivered, supervised and supported by professional agency staff. Koinonia takes a faith-based approach when working with children and families. It is this "koinonia" relationship that has made the difference in the lives of thousands of foster children. If you are looking to volunteer your time to a good cause, Koinonia provides safe, nurturing families for abused and neglected children. They would love to have someone who is interested in volunteering to facilitate fundraising events to help with their annual activities where Koinonia celebrates their children and families. The fundraisers could be bake sales, fundraising dinners, etc.

Please contact Debbie Stull, District Administrator for Koinonia Family Services in Tehachapi, at (661) 823-9738 if you are interested.
