What's Up in Stallion Springs?

 


Stallion Springs Parks and Recreation invites you to the annual Octoberfest Celebration on Oct. 1, from Noon to 6 p.m. at the Stallion Springs Community Center. Everyone is welcome to join in the fun. Food, beer, wine, gifts, and kid friendly activities are just part of the fun for the whole family. No dogs allowed. Vendors are welcome. Contact the CSD at (661) 822-3268 for more details.

The library in Stallion Springs needs volunteers for 2 to 4 hour shifts Tuesday or Thursday 10 to 12 p.m. or 12 to  2 p.m. or Saturday 12 to 3 p.m. We are located at 28500 Stallion Springs Drive. You can call Emma Holm (661) 822-1385 or email mholm16@yahoo.com

Police Report

The Stallion Springs Police Department for the month of August reported one arrest, one citation, 21 want and warrant checks, and conducted two field interviews, There were 68 reports filed, 43 calls for service, four on call callouts, one impound and two medical assists.

The Police Volunteers, CSU, completed 90 vacation house checks, 25 infrastructure checks and 5 school bus checks.

Monthly police reports are included in the SSCSD Board Agendas and can be found at the CSD website http://www.mysscsd.com under “Board Packet & Agenda” link on Home Page. Select appropriate date to view contents.

SSPD Non-Emergency Response: 1-661-861-3110 (1-800-861-3110), Kern County Sheriffs’ Office (KCSO) Dispatch. Your request for SSPD action needs to be logged in at KCSO Dispatch first so it is on record that SSPD was asked to respond to an incident! Do not call SSPD at CSD, or SSPD personal cell phones, to make your report or request!

CERT

Large Animal Disaster Preparedness – The SS CERT Team is gathering information to plan for the care and emergency evacuation of large animals, should the need arise. They are partnering with the SSPD to create a database of residents owning equines and other pets, to create a head count of animals that might need emergency evacuation in the area in case of disasters. Please call the SSCSD at 822-3268 or go to the SSCSD website at: http://www.mysscsd.com. Select “Police Department” on the Home Page, open “Animal Registration” link and provide additional information as soon as possible: “I’m registering for the Large Animal Emergency Preparedness” - Your Name, Address, Phone Number, Email, Number/Type of Large Animals, Have A Horse Trailer Y/N – Capacity.

CERT Basic Training Course

Begins Monday, October 17, 2016, 6 to 8 p.m. Stallion Springs Community Center Corral Room. Stallion Springs Board of Directors.

Meet on the third Tuesday of every month. The next meeting will be on Tuesday, Sept. 20, at 6 p.m. at the CSD Board Room.

The Neighborhood Watch

Police Chief Mike Grant gave a presentation of the Police Department “State of Affairs and Future” at the Sept. 21 meeting.

Regular meetings are held on the third Wednesday of the month, the next meeting is on Oct. 19 at 6:30 p.m. at the CSD. You do not have to reside in Stallion Springs to attend.

SSNW has its own Facebook page: “Stallion Springs Neighborhood Watch” and is a “Closed Group”, open to SS Residents. “Like” the page and request to join us. The SS Bulletin Board page is “Public” and was created for all our SS Community Groups to share their meetings and events in one location.

4-H meets on the Second Friday of the month at 7 p.m. in the library. For more information about the Stallion Springs 4-H group contact, Lori Rogers at 822-3268.
