Successful Dog Days for THS

The Tehachapi Humane Society (THS) celebrated “Dog Days of Summer” with a Silent Auction at the Souza Family Winery Friday July 15.

The Silent Auction was a success bringing in over $1,700 for the Spay and Neuter programs that the Tehachapi Humane Society funds. This was made possible due to the generosity of the Tehachapi’s wonderful big hearted citizens. We had donations of original art work, handmade jewelry, brand new kitchen appliances like pressure cookers, and so much more. It was really fun watching the bidding become heated on some of the items. We held the auction open for an additional 20 minutes due to the good natured competition on the bidding.

Jett Tracz and Mindi Pugh co-chaired the event with the help of Betty Penley, Roberta Cometa, Lynn Mazie, Jan Wilcox, Dianne Thomas, Robyn Blondeel-Timmerman, Sheena Ulrich, and Liz Heredia. With all the volunteers helping to set up and stage the auction, the event was a fun time for all. A super- sized “Thank you” goes to Hilary Jarvuis Hamil who stepped in to help, and was the best MC we could have asked for.

A big shout out of thanks to the Souza Family Vineyard for letting us stage the event there, and thanks again to all who donated, and everyone who attended and bought items. We couldn’t do this without you.
