The long-awaited July 14 Walmart appeal hearing has again been rescheduled. The Fifth District Court of Appeal in Fresno has now scheduled the hearing for July 26 when a three judge panel will hear the case.
In July of 2015 Kern County Superior Court Judge Kenneth Twisselman ruled that the City of Tehachapi had adequately addressed the environmental concerns of Tehachapi First, a group seeking to halt Walmart construction.
Through their attorney, Mark Wolf of San Francisco, the group filed an appeal again challenging the adequacy of the environmental studies.
The Walmart property is located on Tucker Rd, near the corner of Tehachapi Blvd. and adjacent to the Tehachapi Junction center which includes Starbucks and Pacino's Italian restaurant.
