Tehachapi's very first Brew Fondo was a ride that challenged the cyclists to push themselves hard, and to enjoy the beautiful landscapes of the mountains.

The trail took them through farmlands, steep hills, main streets, and rocky terrain. It was amazing to see the degree of ambitious looks on faces as they pushed themselves up to the top of the hills.
Watching them cross the finish line, I couldn't help but think about the sense of accomplishment they must feel, and the deep quiet satisfaction. Too bad there wasn't a large crowd to welcome them back.
After the race, the mountain bikers strolled over to the Beer and Wine Fest for a few brews, along with music and mingling of good friends. What a way to finish a day of riding in the hot sun.
