Tehachapi Tots Programs

 

tehachapi tots is an enrichment preschool program operated by the Tehachapi Valley Recreation and park District. the program serves children 18 months through 5 years of age and enrollment is open to the public. All children are admitted to the program without regard to race, color, creed, or sex.

the enrichment program, through fun filled activities, seeks to enhance children's social, physical, emotional, and intellectual development. Activities include supervised play, singing, games, story-time, discussion of themes, special events, motor movement, field trips, and much more!

Kelli Gilbert is the Tehachapi tots instructor. Kelli earned her Bachelor's Degree in Art education and english and her teaching credential in 2005. "teaching is what i love to do." said Gilbert. " i have been married over 10 years and have two beautiful daughters, both of whom i've taught in the Tehachapi tots." she adds that she is looking forward to meeting all the new parents and tots and having another fun year.

Tehachapi Tots has two different programs:

Parent & Me (18 months-3 years)

Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.

Steven A. Shy Activity Center, 311 East "D" St in Central Park

Instructor: Kelli Gilbert • Cost: $30/month + one-time $30 registration fee.

Class is limited to 20 students

This hour long class is an introduction to the Tehachapi Tots program, and is an effort to begin adding structure and socialization to a child's life. One parent and their child will participate in activities together, including movement, music, storytelling and circle time. Parents will need to bring a snack.

Tots Enrichment (3 years-5 years)

Mondays and Wednesdays, 9:30 a.m. – Noon or

Mondays and Wednesdays, 12:10 p.m. – 2:40 p.m. – NE W TIME ! OR

Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

Instructor: Kelli Gilbert • Cost: $75/month + one-time $50 registration fee.

Class is limited to 15 students

This is the first class your child attends without a parent participating. It is a well-balanced enrichment program which includes exposure to pre-phonics, math concepts, science, dramatics, motor movement, arts & crafts, and music, plus field trips! Children must be toilet trained.

Parents will need to send a snack with the student to all classes.
