The Tehachapi Lions enjoyed volunteering at the Mountain Vineyard's Single Parent Health Fair on May 1. Mountain Vineyard arranged an incredible mount of services for single parent families.

The Tehachapi Lions Club, with the help of Wayne Hoffmeyer and Doude Wysbeek of the Palmdale Lions Club and Tehachapi Lion Dr. Caroline Robison, was able to provide free glaucoma and vision screenings in District 4-L1's Eye Mobile (vision screening unit).

The Lions also got a chance to use their Desert Region's new Spot Vision Screener. The vision screener is a handheld device designed to quickly and easily detect vision issues on patients from six months of age through adulthood. The Lions, with assistance from their members, are able to provide free screenings twice a year in Tehachapi.

The Tehachapi Lions always welcome interested members of our community who have a heart for service and a love for our community. The Lions meet the first and third Thursday of the month at the Tehachapi SENIOR CENTER, 500 East F Street, at 6:30 p.m. For more information, call (661) 822-7583.
