Open Studios

Open Studios at the Treasure Trove do not require reservations – you can come and be inspired to do your best work (or play!) in our comfortable and creative environment and share ideas with other artists and crafters. No teachers will be available during open studios. Come by any time the store is open and classes are not using the entire room. Three hour Open Studio sessions are available for $5. Come on over and get busy being creative!

Friday morning - 10 to 1 p.m. Open Studio - All Media.

Classes

Reservations for all classes along with a deposit must be made at least 48 hours before the scheduled class. Students may bring their own supplies for classes or purchase supplies at the Treasure Trove. Please call 661-822-6794 for additional information and reservations. Tuesday afternoons, 3-5 p.m. is Earth Clay with Gloria Moore for $25 per class plus clay and firing charge. A weekly open work

shop to explore various methods of working with earth based clay.

Wednesday mornings, 10-2 p.m. - Adventures in Painting with Juanita Niemeyer. A workshop for artists painting with oils or acrylics. Bring your own project or work on a project supplied by the teacher. Juanita is an experienced art teacher and can help with techniques for whatever you want to paint. Paint on canvas, wood, glass, paper or ceramic bisque. $20 per session (not including materials). A variety of materials are available for sale at the Treasure Trove. Come any Wednesday and experience your creativity. Please bring lunch. Lunch break will be half an hour.

Thursday afternoons, 1:15-4:15 p.m. - Fiber Arts with Karen Stevens for $15 per session. Need help getting started or completing a project?

Bring your project or idea to class and let Karen help you get going. Come once or every week. Beginners – Karen will teach you the basics.

Projects may include knitting, crocheting, cross stitch, needle point, tatting and embroidery.

May 28, Saturday afternoon, 1-4 p.m. - Jewelry Making with Dawn Callahan for $25 Plus Materials. Learn beading and jewelry making basics: Create your own necklace and earrings.

June 2-August 18, Thursday evenings from 4-7 p.m., Farmers Market spaces available for vendors. $10 for a 6 foot table space for the day. Sellers must be present for the entire market and will sell directly to their customers with no commission to the store. Sellers will supply their own tables & chairs, collect their own money and make their change.

June 4, Saturday afternoon from 1-4 p.m., Bead Loom Weaving with Susanna for $20.00 plus materials. Learn to weave on a bead loom. Create a bracelet or other small beaded object.

June 11-12, Saturday and Sunday from 10-4 p.m. - Navajo Rug Weaving with Dana Smith for $250 Including table top loom–warped in wool and ready to weave, wool yarn along with a shuttle and comb. Learn to weave the Navajo way. Take home your own loom and a 12" x 18" rug that you have created. Class maximum 8 people.
