Kaiser Permanente unveiled its new medical office in the Tehachapi Junction mall (Starbuck's) Jan. 19, 2016, to the accolades of Kaiser members who live in the Greater Tehachapi area. An estimated 700 of the 5,000 local Kaiser members dropped in during the grand opening of the new facility, which will be staffed with doctors four days a week and a nurse practitioner five days a week. The hours may be extended to Saturdays, depending on demand.

Nurse Practitioner Sua Yang, a native of Sacramento, will be on duty at the Tehachapi Kaiser Permanente Medical Office five days a week.
"It's a godsend," said Bill Durr, a 15-year Kaiser member, as he toured the 2,500-square-foot building that is outfitted with the latest medical technology.
A mobile medical unit has been serving the Kaiser members in Tehachapi.
The small medical office concept is unique in the Kaiser system and may become a model for service to small communities, Kaiser Senior Vice President David Womack said. "There's nothing like this in Kaiser Permanente."
The city of Tehachapi, World Wind and Solar and Tehachapi Hospital staff recently have signed up with Kaiser. The facility opens for business on Feb. 1.

The solution to an invasion of people coming up to Tehachapi to play in the snow is to divert them before they are committed to the trip, Sheriff Sgt. Mike Bonsness told a group of concerned residents.
“Your real problem is you have trespassers who don’t know any better,’ Bosness said at Jan. 11, 2016 meeting at the Gold Hills Community Services District. “They are not up here to rob you. People are going to want to come see that snow.”
The sergeant said he understood the access problem. He said he was from Wyoming, where people used to be able to hunt on private land. “Now everything is posted. You have got to pay unless it is Forest Service or BLM land.”
He urged the residents to help him come up with solutions. Some residents reported that the snow-players are aggressive, cut fences and leave gtrash.
Bosness said a citizen can ask a deputy to carry out a citizen’s arrest. He said the citizen, who is now legally a victim, must want to carry out the legal process with the district attorney.
