"Service Above Self" is taken very seriously by these members of the Interact Club. Under the guidance of advisors Adam Whittier and Judy Trujillo the members can be seen all over Tehachapi performing services and good deeds.
Rotary Club of Tehachapi is sponsoring their annual Holiday Lunch for seniors on Thursday, Dec. 3, starting at noon. The event is held at St. Malachy Roman Catholic Church at 407 W. E St. in Tehachapi.
This celebration features a full turkey lunch with all the fixings, which is offered free of charge to seniors over 60.

Guests arrived early and had time to socialize prior to being served dinner. Over 350 people attended last year's holiday party.
Approximately 300 seniors attended last year and enjoyed an afternoon of festivities, and interaction with each other and volunteers. A wonderful group of Rotarians and Interact Club youth not only served the meals, but were thrilled to chat with the guests.
Lots of gifts were distributed to ticket holders and a warm and inviting atmosphere made the day a memorable one.
It is crucial that those wishing to attend sign up at the Senior Center, at various local churches, or by calling Rhonda at (661) 821-2846 for reservations.
Each year has seen this celebration grow but the hall has a specific capacity so RESERVATIONS ARE A MUST.
