Make-A-Wish helps dreams come true!

Christian and his family embarked on this once-in-a-lifetime wish experience this past July and shared wonderful pictures and stories from their amazing trip.

Organizers from the 2015 Tehachapi Mountain Beer and Wine Fest that was held this past summer on July 18th presented a check for $4,100 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation to fund a Disney World trip for eleven-year-old Christian Morrison. Fundraising efforts the day of the festival will be added to the check amount to cover the cost of the trip totaling $6,000.

Christian was diagnosed with Wilms Tumor two years ago. After diagnosis, his mother, Crystal, had to juggle the intensive chemotherapy schedule along with her commitment and studies in nursing school. It was during this difficult time that Make-A-Wish volunteers visited Christian. Although a room makeover including a new computer was considered, ultimately Christian chose a trip to Disney World for his wish. Christian and his family embarked on this once-in-a-lifetime wish experience this past July and shared wonderful pictures and stories from their amazing trip.

Tehachapi Festivals mission is to provide fun inexpensive events with a great value for attendees, vendors, and local artists to benefit local charities.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation relies solely on local donations and funding to continue their mission of granting wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions. Make-A-Wish does not wait for funding before granting a wish. The Central California Chapter granted 127 wishes in their territory and 40 in Kern County this last fiscal year. The average cost of a wish is $6,000.
