Local teen chosen as finalist in National American Miss California Pageant

 

Jordyn Bell, 14, has been chosen as a state finalist in the National American Miss California Pageant to be held July 17- 19, 2015 at the Hilton Orange County in Costa Mesa, Calif. She is in the 9th grade and attends Tehachapi High School. She will be competing with other girls ages 13-15 in the junior teen division.

Jordyn said she enjoys cooking, playing volleyball, photography, art, and camping. She also enjoys spending time with her family and hanging out with friends. On weekends she is a part-time babysitter.

This competition is based on inner beauty, as well as poise and presentation. Emphasis is placed on the importance of gaining self-confidence, having a positive attitude, and setting and achieving personal, as well as future goals.

A panel of judges will score the contestants in the following categories: Formal wear (30%), personal introduction (30%), interview (30%) and community involvement (10%).
