CHP Senior Volunteer Academy

The California Highway Patrol's Mojave and Antelope Valley area offices held a graduation ceremony for new senior volunteers on Wednesday, April 29, 2015. The volunteers have completed a two-week course in which they learned how to assist CHP officers in both administrative and field capacities.  Volunteers ages 55 and older take courses in subjects including driving, CPR, first aid, traffic control, cone placement, road closure procedures and radio procedures. Members of the Senior Volunteer Program are the unsung heroes of this Department and they deserve to be recognized for all they do.
