Fiddler's Crossing, an after hours venue

The first Friday’s of each month Fiddler’s Crossing holds an Open House at 7 p.m., featuring the “Open Mic House Band”.

Owner Peter Cutler, himself a fine musician, singer and audio mixer, said, “It’s our intent to be there for the visitors and music lovers attending the First Friday event. Fiddlers Crossing wants to be the after hours, end of the evening premiere venue. Our doors open not at 5 but at 7 p.m., and jamming starts shortly thereafter”.

Featuring ballads and blues, thoughtful rock, blue grass and folk – “Americana Music” presented at its best.

This writer attended arecent event and found it to be one of Tehachapi’s most exciting musical delights. In attendance were music enthusiasts of all ages, from teens to oldsters. Tapping their feet, laughing and singing along; audience participation is encouraged. The more the audience gives back, the better the musicians sound. It is very reminiscent of the L.A. and San Francisco coffee houses of the 50s and 60s; sans the “sweet” smokey atmosphere.

Light snacks, along with coffee and tea are provided. There is no cover charge, but tips for the musicans is encouraged.

The atmosphere is informal. Seating while adequate is limited, which makes for a warm intimate venue. It’s a not to be missed evening. Take the whole family for a treat into the world of “Americana Music”.

Fiddler’s Crossing is located at 206 E. F St., Tehachapi. For more information visit their website: FiddlersCrossing.org
